Uzbekistan-China: Dynamic Сooperation Built on Strategic Partnership

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov arrived September 2 in Beijing at the invitation of President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping.

After the official welcoming ceremony for the President of our country at the Beijing Capital International Airport, the Uzbek delegation headed to the Diaoyutai Residence assigned to it.

President Islam Karimov on the same day met with President Xi Jinping.

The head of our state congratulated the PRC leader on the 70th anniversary of the Victory in World War II and noted that the people of China have made a great contribution to the success.

President Islam Karimov Attends SCO Summit in Ufa

As it was reported earlier, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov took part in the of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting of Council of the Heads of State in the city of Ufa, Russia, on July 9-10.

The major events of the summit took place on July 10. The session of the Council of the Heads of State of SCO member nations started with a meeting in contracted format. The talks were attended by President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbaev, President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping, President of the Kyrgyz Republic Almazbek Atambaev, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, and President of the Republic Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

The meeting participants swapped visions on pressing issues of international and regional significance as well as prospects in the evolution of SCO.

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov arrived in the city of Ufa, Russian Federation, to attend the regular session of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of the Heads of State.

The summit meeting of the leaders of SCO member nations (Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan) and those of BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa) took place in the Congress Hall, downtown Ufa. The event participants exchanged views on issues pertaining to cooperation within SCO and BRICS, to the developments in the world economy, particularly the joint provision for economic growth, support for financial stability and structural reforms, along with regional and global affairs.

Uzbekistan, South Korea Discover New Horizons of Mutually Advantageous Cooperation

As it was reported earlier, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov arrived May 27 in Seoul on a state visit, at the invitation of President Park Geun-hye of the Republic of Korea.

The second day of the visit started from the travel by the President of our country to the National Memorial Complex that houses the burial remains of nearly 170 thousand people who sacrificed their lives for the independence of the Republic of Korea.

The head of our state paid tribute to the fallen and laid a wreath to the Memorial Column.

During the official ceremony of welcoming the high ranking guest at the residence of the President of the Republic of Korea, the guard of honor lined up under the sounds of state anthems of the two nations. The two leaders walked along the guard and gave honor to them.

Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan to Consolidate the Strategic Partnership

As it was reported earlier, the Uzbek President Islam Karimov paid an official visit to Kazakhstan on November 24-25 at the invitation of President Nursultan Nazarbaev.

During the talks in a traditionally friendly setting marked by mutual understanding and openness, the heads of our two states discussed key issues in the evolution of relations between the two nations, prospects of enhancement of bilateral cooperation in the trade-economic, cultural-humanitarian and other areas, along with pressing regional and international topics of shared interest.

Islam Karimov and Nursultan Nazarbaev stressed that the steadfast advancement of interaction across diverse spheres in the spirit of the Strategic Partnership Treaty between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan, inked in Tashkent in June 2013, meets the vital interests of the two peoples, their historical and cultural community, the potent bonds of friendship and neighborliness tested by time. Moreover, the consistent enlargement of such cooperation facilitates the consolidation of peace and stability in the region as well as sustainable development and prosperity in it.

Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan Set for New Phase of Mutually Advantageous Cooperation

As it was reported earlier, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov paid an official visit to Turkmenistan on October 23-24 at the invitation of President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov.

The major events of the visit took place October 24. Following an official ceremony of welcoming the guest delegation, the heads of two states held a meeting in a contracted format.

The Uzbek and Turkmen peoples share a common history, similar cultures and values, languages and traditions. The scientific, spiritual-cultural and literary heritage of our ancestors is the joint wealth of the two nations. It can be said without any exaggeration that Alisher Navoi’s works are read and studied in Turkmenistan with a keen interest, while the masterpieces of Makhtumkuli enjoy a matching popularity in Uzbekistan.

President Karimov Attends CIS Summit Meeting in Minsk

As it was reported earlier, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov took part October 9-10 in the Minsk summit meeting of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Major events of the highest-level convention in the capital of Belarus, including the session of Council of the Heads of State, took place on October 10. The leaders of member nations discussed pressing issues pertaining to the evolution of cooperation within the Commonwealth.

Presidents exchanged views on security issues and those related to enhancing interaction in the humanitarian area.

According to Uzbekistan’s President Islam Karimov, the CIS is an institution that provides extensive opportunities to maintain direct dialogue and address urgent issues. It also serves as a platform for the elaboration of mutually suitable approaches and coordinated practical measures to facilitate sustainable development in the participating countries, to cash in the available trade-economic capacities, and counter the security threats.

Islam Karimov Attends SCO’s Dushanbe Summit

As it was reported earlier, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov took part in the regular summit meeting of Shanghai Cooperation Organization on September 11-12 in Dushanbe.

In Tajikistan’s capital city, the head of our state held a range of important bilateral talks on September 11 with the leaders of Iran, Tajikistan and Russia.

Thus, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan met with President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rouhani who had arrived in Dushanbe to attend the summit as the head of an observer nation in the SCO. The two sides discussed the current state of bilateral relations across a variety of spheres and exchanged views on their further development.

Uzbekistan, China to Move to New Phase of Relations

During his state visit to the People’s Republic of China, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov on August 20 met with Premier of the PRC Li Keqiang.

It was noted during the meeting that the current visit by President Islam Karimov will facilitate the further consolidation and development of cooperation between our two countries and afford a new impetus to the steadfast enhancement of strategic partnership relations.

The President of Uzbekistan stressed that during the talks in Beijing the two sides signed more than twenty documents concerning projects for a total sum of 5.2 billion US dollars, along with trade agreements for 800 million dollars. Thus the value of deals reached 6 billion dollars.

Mutual Confidence and Shared Interest – Key Factors in Strategic Partnership

President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov arrived 19 August in Beijing with a state visit on the invitation of President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping.

The Uzbek-Chinese relations have been noticeably enlarging as of late to rise to a higher level of strategic partnership. This kind of cooperation that serves the national interests of our two countries, the economic advancement of Uzbekistan and China and the rise in standings of both states on the world stage, has been in dynamic progress. This is built on the friendship and mutual respect between Islam Karimov and Xi Jinping, on the Treaty on Friendship and Cooperation, the Joint Declaration on the Further Development and Enhancement of Bilateral Relations of Strategic Partnership.
